What is Green Lipped Mussel (GLM)?
You guessed it! Green lipped mussel is exactly what it sounds like!!!
Green lipped mussel is grown in clean water in New Zealand which is controlled by the New Zealand government. This ensures the supply is superior and sustainable.
GLM is cleaner than ordinary fish oil is because they feed on phytoplankton. That means they aren’t as easily contaminated with mercury, PCBs, and dioxins like many fish oils are.
They contain a comprehensive array of potent fatty acids. Containing 30 fatty acids while most fish oil contain only two, GLM it far better.
GLM has anti-inflammatory properies due to its highly concentrated an omega-3 fatty acids. Yes- omega-3s are natural anti-inflammatories. They are excellent for the bones and connective tissues which is important for dogs of from puppyhood when bones are still developing, senior years when bones need more TLC, and in between. It is important to maintain strong healthy bones, ligaments, and joints. Many dogs tear ligaments as well as develop achy bones, joints, and are susceptible to related issues. Green lipped mussel is good stuff; it provides nourishment and support to promote optimal mobility.
Safe-Sea is a supplement that I have used for several years which I highly recommend. I wanted to share this with you because it is the most effective omega fatty acid supplement I have found. Yes, it is on the pricey side, but it is well worth it. Its quality speaks for itself. I alternate it with Mercola Krill Oil, but that’s not necessary.

Links and products that aren’t readily available anywhere else. I’m currently learning about this in terms of our sweet Mozy cat we think has IBD. Inn still looking for something like this for him. But we have a Morty too. We’ve been giving her Farmers Dog.

Thank you so much for your kind words. For IBD I suggest probiotics. There’s one that I have a great suggestion for a soil-based probiotic that I use. It’s the only soil-based probiotic I have found.
If you click onto “safe sea” you will find the probiotic on that site.
If you could find a food that does not contain lentils or chickpeas and has fewer than 10 added supplements it would be the optimal choice. It’s also best to rotate the proteins. I suggest Barfworld. If you give them a call, let them know that I sent you and ask them if there are any discounts that they could provide because I sent you to them.
