Natural Easter Dog Treats

Well, Easter is on the way so I have a new DIY treat recipe for the doggies.  I am sure they will gobble them up.  Please feel free to share your comments.  I would love to hear how it goes.

Ingredients:

2 small to medium size carrots

1  1/4 cups flour (I prefer organic whole wheat, but the only small bag I could find was white organic unbleached)

2 4oz jars of carrot baby food

1/4 cup fresh parsley

1 egg

Method:

IMG-20140314-00146Preheat oven at 350

Mix flour and baby food in a bowl

Put the egg (with the shell), carrot, and parsley into a food and just grind them all together (I used a blender, but you can use a food processor).  You don’t need to go overboard. it doesn’t need to come out smooth.

I used my fingers, but you can use a teaspoon to make very small blobs of the batter and place them onto non-stick cookie sheets or trays.  Allow to bake on the top oven rack for around 35 to 40 minutes.  You might want to check them in 30 minutes.  You want them to bake long enough so they are not gooey inside

Final Product:Treat 1
Like the St. Patrick’s Day recipe, the treats aren’t pretty or cute by any means.  They come out a little bit hard on the outside and kinda cake-like on the inside.  Trust me.  The dogs will love them!
